The End

We're back home again, but we can look back on a very successfull tour. We had a last 'goodbye pint' in the Hare and Hounds in Framfield yesterday with Graham, who had allready secured a few gigs for our next UK trips in September 2008, May 2009 and July 2009. Further we will probably visit some festivals in Ireland and France next summer and are planning another Scandinavia tour. Now we have three weeks off and then we'll start with the recording of our new album Dutch Reelism and some other side projects which we will tell you more about later...

Thank you all for your nice e-mails, you've obviously been reading our weblog frequently! Thanks also to our Irish fans, some of whom even made the 4 hour drive from Dublin to Feakle just to see us play again, and our ever supportive fans in the UK who did a good job singing along with Three Wheels on my Wagon. See you all again very soon!

More Feakle

Good to be back in Feakle! Feakle now has a brand new internet cafe in Molony's bar so we'll try to post some pictures here very soon. We were asked to do a small session in Peppers bar last night, and although we didn't expect many festival visitors allready since the official festival opening is tonight. But we had two fiddle players from Germany who joined in and Auke, a Dutch guitar player whom we've allready met several times before here in Feakle. Nice to see those familiar faces again. The atmosphere is good, the weather is not too bad...

Feakle

Hi all, just a quick blog here! We had a very good time in Dungarvan playing at the Local, owned by Donachadh Gouch (bodhran player of Danu) who is a very nice and easygoing man, besides being a brilliant bodhran player. We stayed in the white house B&B and slept like babies for two whole nights. A nice session like gig in a packed Linnanes bar, Kilfenora the next evening and now we're in Feakle. We received a warm welcome from Gary Pepper and feel right at home again! We will play in Pepper's Bar tonight and tomorrow in a session like manner, anyone around with instruments, feel free to join in! It promises to be a very good week!

We'll try to write again very soon, but internet is hard to get around here ;)

On the road

We have to leave in 30 minutes to catch the boat to Ireland. We've had a very busy week, tuesday we went to an English traditional music session in the Lord Hood in Greenwich where we received a warm welcome and had some very nice tunes! A good 'day off' this time without any rain!

Wednesday we had the gig in the Joogleberry Playhouse in Brighton, which went well. The audience was great, we made some new friends and will be back in the Joogleberry for the Brighton Music Festival next year.

Yesterday we spent the whole day rehearsing and putting together new tunes. Around seven PM we drove to Seaford where we had our last UK gig in the Bay Tree Inn. Many people were there last night, some journalists from 3 different newspapers and a radio station who all wanted to come and listen, ask questions and so on. The crowd clapped and danced all night, we had a great time and certainly need a day off again now to prepare for our stay in Ireland.

We'll try to post some pictures later this week. It has been a very good tour with lots of new contacts and bookings, but most important, lots of fun! Thank you Graham, Nel, Chris and all you fans it was good to see you all again!

And now we will go and try to not miss the boat again!

The Weekend
Monday, 28 July 2008

Usually the pubs are not as crowded as the bigger venues we play in, but that was different in Framfield last saturday. On top of that, someone thought it would be fun to raise the temperature to at least 25 degrees during the day here in the UK so we felt like playing in the sauna the whole weekend.

We had some very nice gigs though. Graham Pope and Chris Martin here in the UK have been working hard for us which resulted in some more gigs later this week, one in the Bay Tree Inn, Thursday, 9PM in Seaford and one on wednesday in the famous music venue the Joogleberry in Brighton at 8 PM.

Picture GalleryHere's some pictures of our past gigs, th outdoor one is by Mike Hammerton, the indoor one by Chris Martin. Just click the on picture to go to the next image. Today we have a day off, maybe we will find a session tonight just for fun, tomorrow we might go to Eastbourne or London for a session. Who knows? We'll keep you posted!
